Tidy Haus Zoom Meeting Setup Instructions

Setting up Zoom for your Tidy Haus session

This takes about five minutes, and you only ever have to do it once. If you get stuck at any point, stop and call or text us at (214) 444-3636. We would much rather walk you through it than have you struggle alone.

You do not need a Zoom account. You do not need to sign up, pay for anything, or remember a password. You only need the free Zoom app installed on your computer. Your consultant will send you a link, and you click it.

Step 1 — Download Zoom

Click the button below. It opens the official Zoom download page in a new tab.

Open the Zoom download page →

On that page, look for the first section, called Zoom Workplace desktop app. Click the blue Download button underneath it.

Zoom works out on its own whether you have a Windows computer or a Mac, so there is nothing to choose. If you see a menu asking for Windows or Mac, pick the one you have.

Step 2 — Open the file you just downloaded

The file lands in your Downloads folder. Depending on your browser, it may also appear at the top-right or bottom-left of your screen the moment it finishes.

On a Windows computer the file is called ZoomInstallerFull.exe.
On a Mac it is called zoomusInstallerFull.pkg.

Double-click it. An installer opens. Say yes to whatever it asks and let it finish. It usually takes under a minute.

Step 3 — Check that it worked

When the installation finishes, a Zoom icon appears — on your desktop on Windows, or in your Applications folder on a Mac. It is a blue camera symbol.

That is the whole setup. You can close everything now. Do not sign in and do not create an account. You genuinely do not need one.

Step 4 — On the day of your session

Your consultant sends you a link by email. At your appointment time, click it. Zoom opens by itself and puts you into the session.

Your browser may ask something like "Open Zoom Meetings?" — click Open or Allow. Zoom may also ask to use your microphone and camera. Say yes to both.

If a box appears asking you to Join with Computer Audio, click it. That is how you and your consultant hear each other.

A few things people ask

Do you see my whole computer?

Only what you choose to share, and only while you are sharing it. You start the sharing, and you can stop it at any moment with one click. Your files never leave your computer — we work by looking at your screen together, not by copying anything off it.

Do I have to be there the whole time?

No. Sessions are built so you only need to be present at the beginning and the end. We agree the goals up front, do the work, and send you a written summary afterward.

Is the session recorded?

Yes, and you get your own copy of the video to keep. It is a useful reference later, when you want to remember exactly how something was done.

Can I use my iPad or phone instead?

You can join that way, but we do not recommend it for a working session. Search for Zoom Workplace in the App Store or Google Play if you need to. For real organizing work, a computer is far better.

Nothing is working and I am frustrated.

Stop and call or text (214) 444-3636. Getting set up is not a test you can fail, and it is not something you should spend your afternoon on. That is what we are here for.

Still not sure about any of it?
