Your desktop is buried. Your downloads folder is a junk drawer. There are four versions of the same file, and you’re not sure which one is real. You didn’t do anything wrong — digital clutter grows, and the mess doesn’t sort itself out.
Here’s the part most people don’t expect: you don’t have to do the sorting. Most organizing services coach you through it — they talk, you click. Tidy Haus is hands-on. We share your screen over Zoom and do the actual work — sorting, renaming, filing, de-duplicating — while you watch everything happen. Your files never leave your computer, and nothing is ever deleted without your say-so. What we set aside goes into a folder for you to review — everything waits for your call.
For over ten years, our thoughtful nerds have quietly done this for more than 2,300 people. Whatever state your digital life is in, we've genuinely seen worse — and we can sort it.
Digital Declutter Services
What does a professional digital decluttering service actually do?
A professional digital decluttering service takes the mess on your computer — files, folders, desktop, downloads, duplicates — and turns it into a system you can actually use. Here’s what that looks like in a Tidy Haus session:
We sort what you have. Every stray file gets looked at. Documents, photos, screenshots, downloads — years of accumulation, triaged in one pass.
We rename things so you can find them. Scan (3).pdf becomes 2024 Federal Return (filed).pdf. A file you can read is a file you can find.
We build folders that make sense. A simple, numbered structure — Finances, Home, Health, Photos — shaped around how you actually live, not a template.
We handle duplicates and junk. Copies, near-copies, and final_FINAL_v3 chaos get reconciled. Anything questionable goes into a To Be Deleted folder that only you empty.
We teach you the system at the end. The last part of every session is the tutorial — so the system keeps working after we log off.
The whole thing happens live over Zoom, on your screen, with your permission at every step. You can end the session at any moment.
What actually changes when the clutter is gone
Clients tell us the difference shows up in small, daily ways. Finding a document takes seconds instead of a search party. The desktop stops shouting at you every morning. That low-grade background stress — the “I really should deal with that” hum — finally quiets down.
There’s real evidence behind the feeling: visual clutter competes for your attention, and decision fatigue is real. Every “where did I put that?” is a small withdrawal from a limited account. A tidy digital space gives that attention back.
And it holds. Because we build the system around your habits — and teach it to you before we log off — this isn’t a purge that grows back. It’s a structure that keeps working.
What We Do
Digital decluttering is the process of removing the digital junk that slows you down — duplicate files, forgotten downloads, screenshot pileups, unused apps, and an overflowing inbox — so your computer and phone feel fast, clean, and easy to use again. Our remote digital decluttering service covers all of it: we clean up your computer's files and folders, declutter photos, screenshots, and downloads, uninstall clutter apps and cancel unused subscriptions, remove duplicate files and photos from your devices, combine scattered folders into one clean structure, and run light email cleanups with subscription and spam filters. Everything happens remotely over Zoom, usually in just one or two sessions.

Our Digital Decluttering Services & Method
Start with a Conversation
We begin with a quick Zoom or screen-sharing session to understand your digital situation, your goals, and what “decluttered” should feel like for you.
Build a Simple Session Plan
Once we understand your needs, we create a plan broken into focused 2–3 hour sessions.
- Many of our clients only need one or two “Digital Decluttering” sessions
- Larger or long-neglected systems may take two to three
We Complete the Work for You
After the plan is set, we get to work — and you don’t have to be present for each session. We declutter, clean up, and simplify everything quietly in the background while keeping you updated.
Separate Business & Personal Files
To make everything seamlessly easy to find, we cleanly segregate your data into two distinct, high-level structural zones.
Organize Business Files Logically
Your business files are grouped into clear categories tailored to your work, such as:
- Client files
- Operations and administrative files
- Marketing and creative assets
- Vendor and partner documents
Your Personal Files are Organized Naturally
Your personal files are organized into life areas that feel natural, such as:
- Family archives & home logistics
- Photos, media, & memories
- Personal finances & historical records
End-of-Session Review
At the end of each session we review what was completed and go over a brief list of clarifying questions for items only you can decide on.
Here are some of the most common digital organizing tasks that we provide:
From an overflowing downloads folder to a decade of files scattered across old computers, most digital organizing projects come down to the same core tasks. Here is what we do most often — and what your finished folder structure can look like when we are done.
- Combine files and folders from multiple computers and hard drives into a single, organized, decluttered system
- Archive and delete unused, duplicate, and unneeded files and clutter
- Combine and de-duplicate music libraries
- Organize photos and make sure they are backed up in the cloud
- Enable backups, including cloud solutions
- Ensure safe password storage
- Upgrade drivers and fix application problems
- Recommend new purchases when equipment needs replacing
- Review your credit card, Apple, and Google Play accounts to cancel any outdated subscriptions

“I’d tested many apps to repair my files and folders, and frankly I was getting frustrated with the slow process for such a simple job. Luckily, Tidy Haus stepped in to help. Now my cloud and hard drives sync smoothly, and my phone has only half the files — making everything easier to handle.”
“I tried a few deduplication apps on my Mac, but I always felt lost having to restart and figure out the process each time. Tidy Haus identified all the duplicates and versions across my system and made the setup so smooth that now I see duplicates far less often.”
Pricing
Simple, honest pricing
Straightforward rates and honest hours — you only pay for the time we actually use.
Our minimum is a 2-hour session for a flat fee of $280. Most clients find it helpful to start with a 30-minute to 1-hour deep dive planning session, and then we happily move forward with the actual work after that.
Our standard hourly rate. This rate is for customers with small projects that slightly exceed our required minimum of 2 service hours at the start of service.
This plan works well for clients who want targeted help with specific tasks, such as decluttering downloads, organizing photos, or consolidating accounts. It’s a great option if you want immediate improvements without committing to a larger package.
This tier is perfect for individuals seeking deeper support. With more time, we can tackle complex or multi-device setups, restructure years of unorganized files, or assist with shared family systems.
This tier is best suited for long-term projects that require extensive support across multiple devices or platforms. If you’re dealing with years of accumulated digital clutter or need ongoing maintenance, this package provides the best value.
Prepaid hours are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase — we’ll endeavor to remind you before they expire.
