How Much Does a Digital Decluttering Service Cost in 2026? (Real Pricing, No Guessing)
A digital decluttering service typically costs $280 for a 2-hour minimum session, then $140/hour standard, or $110–$130/hour if you prepay for a package (5, 10, or 20 hours). That's the full range — no hidden fees, no surprise add-ons.
At Tidy Haus, those are our actual rates, not a "starting at" teaser. We've worked with 2,356 clients over 10+ years, remotely over Zoom from our base in Fort Worth, TX, and we've been featured in the Wall Street Journal for how we approach digital organizing. Here's exactly what things cost and why.
Digital Decluttering Service Pricing
| Package | Rate | Total |
|---|---|---|
| 2-hour minimum | $140/hr | $280 |
| Standard hourly | $140/hr | Pay as you go |
| 5-hour package | $130/hr | $650 |
| 10-hour package | $120/hr | $1,200 |
| 20-hour package | $110/hr | $2,200 |
The math is simple: the more hours you prepay, the lower your hourly rate. Prepaid hours stay valid for 6 months, so there's no pressure to burn through them in one weekend. See the full breakdown on our pricing page.
What's Included in a Digital Decluttering Session?
A session is dedicated, one-on-one time with an organizer over Zoom, working through your inbox, files, photos, or devices together in real time. You're not handing us your laptop and walking away — you're on the call, making decisions, and learning the system as we build it.
Depending on what you're tackling, a typical session might include:
Sorting and archiving old emails, unsubscribing from clutter, and setting up folders or labels that actually make sense
Organizing computer files and folders into a structure you'll remember how to use
Sorting digital photos and videos, removing duplicates, and setting up an album or backup system
Setting up or cleaning up cloud storage (Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox, OneDrive)
Building workflows and automations so the mess doesn't come right back
ADHD-friendly systems designed around how your brain actually works, not a generic template
Every session ends with a system you can maintain on your own — that's the goal, not just a one-time cleanup. Full service details are on our Digital Decluttering page.
What's the 2-Hour Minimum For?
The 2-hour minimum ($280) exists because digital organizing rarely works well in less time — you need enough time to actually see progress, not just get oriented. Most projects need time to assess what's there, make decisions, and build something functional, and that rarely happens in under two hours.
We've found that shorter sessions tend to end right as momentum builds. Two hours is enough to complete a smaller project (like a single email inbox or one device's photo library) or make real, visible progress on a bigger one.
How Many Hours Does an Average Project Take?
Most digital decluttering projects run 5–10 hours total, though it depends heavily on how much you're tackling and how long it's been neglected. A single email account might take 2–4 hours. A full digital life reset — email, files, photos, and cloud storage across multiple devices — often lands closer to 10–20 hours.
Some general guidelines based on our client history:
One inbox, lightly cluttered: 2–4 hours
One inbox, years of backlog: 4–8 hours
Photo library (thousands of photos, duplicates, no organization): 6–12 hours
Full digital reset (email + files + photos + cloud): 10–20+ hours
We don't estimate your project sight unseen and lock you into a package. Most clients start with the 2-hour minimum or a 5-hour package, see how far that gets them, and then decide whether to add more hours. That way you're never overpaying for hours you didn't need.
Are There Deposits, Travel Fees, or Surcharges?
No. There are no deposits, no travel fees, and no surcharges of any kind — the rate you see is the rate you pay. Because Tidy Haus works entirely remotely over Zoom, there's no travel to charge for in the first place, and we don't add fees for weekends, rush requests, or anything else.
Payment is handled securely through Stripe, and you only pay for the package or hours you choose.
What If I Don't Use All My Prepaid Hours?
You can cancel within 72 hours of purchase for a full refund, as long as no hours from that purchase have been used. After that window, all sales are final, and unused hours remain valid for 6 months from purchase, giving you plenty of time to schedule additional sessions whenever you're ready.
This is intentional — we'd rather you buy a package that fits your actual project than feel locked into hours you're not using. If you're unsure how many hours you'll need, it's worth starting smaller (the 2-hour minimum or 5-hour package) and adding more once you know your pace.
When to DIY vs. Hire a Pro
Some digital clutter is genuinely a DIY job. If you're dealing with one messy folder, a handful of duplicate photos, or an inbox that just needs a weekend of unsubscribing, you can probably knock it out yourself with a free afternoon and a checklist.
Hiring a pro makes more sense when:
You've tried to tackle it before and abandoned the project halfway through
The clutter spans years and multiple platforms (old laptops, several cloud accounts, inherited files)
You have ADHD or executive function challenges that make sustained solo organizing genuinely hard, not just unpleasant
You want a system built for you, not just a one-time cleanup that falls apart in a month
The stakes are higher than convenience — lost tax documents, important photos, or business files you can't afford to lose
If you've read this far because you're weighing the cost against just doing it yourself, that's a fair question to ask. But if the honest answer is "I've had years to do this and haven't," a session or two with a pro is usually cheaper than the time, stress, and repeated false starts of doing it alone.
